We tell the stories that make Hawaiʻi Hawaiʻi.

ForTheMoʻo is a culturally grounded marketing studio for businesses and nonprofits rooted in Hawaiʻi. Not adapted for us. Built by us.

Hawaiʻi has the richest stories in the world. We make sure they get told the right way.

Most marketing here is handed down from somewhere else. We build from the ground up, rooted in how Hawaiʻi actually connects: through community, storytelling, and pilina.

What We Do

Built for how
Hawaiʻi moves.

Every engagement starts with listening. No templates. No one-size-fits-all.

01

Social Media
Management

Strategy, posting, community management, and monthly reporting. Done for you, month after month, in a voice that actually sounds like you.

02

Content Days +
Asset Creation

One dedicated day. We come to you, capture your brand in motion, and hand you a full folder of content ready to post.

03

Brand & Asset
Design

Logos, brand identity, patterns, icons, merch, and signage. The full visual system, designed from your story instead of a stock template.

04

Brand Strategy
+ Consulting

Audits, positioning, brand voice, and campaign planning for organizations that need a direction, not just execution.

05

Workshops + Education

We teach teams and communities how to market themselves. Grounded in story, not jargon, from a curriculum taught across Hawaiʻi.

All services are grounded in Hawaiʻi's cultural context. We don't apply mainland frameworks to local brands.

About ForTheMoʻo

The name is
the work.

ForTheMoʻo grew out of a simple truth: the communities I grew up in didn't have marketing that actually sounded like them.

I'm Makanaohaililani Waikiki. I'm from Keaukaha, Hawaiʻi Island. I'm Kanaka Maoli, and ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi is my first language. I'm a storyteller, and I use marketing as the vehicle.

In the Hawaiian tradition, the moʻo is a guardian. Moʻo also means lineage and continuity, and it lives at the root of moʻolelo: story. That's the name, and that's the job. We guard the story, keep it connected to where it comes from, and carry it forward.

"Not adapting.
Building."

How We Work

Three steps.
One relationship.

1

Kūkākūkā Talk Story

We start by listening. A real conversation about your organization, your goals, and your community, before we ever suggest a strategy.

2

Kākau Build

Strategy, content, and creative built from what we learned, not from a template. Every deliverable is made for you specifically.

3

Mālama Sustain

We don't post and disappear. We track, learn, and adjust so your brand keeps growing in a way that lasts.

Let's Talk Story

Ready to tell
your story?

We work with a small number of clients at a time so we can give each one what they actually deserve. If you're rooted in Hawaiʻi and ready to show up for real, let's talk.
